Graphic Tablet & Wireless pen.

Woohoo! I just got myself a digi-pen!
I’ve been in the market for a graphic tablet for over a year now but never seemed to get round to actually buying one.
I had my eye on one for £50 but incredibly I literally bumped into an equal for a mere £20!!
Of course I bought it… in fact I ran to the till and got it home as fast as possible. Guess where I bought it.

   >Clue:

That’s right! Netto!
This credit crunch is starting to pay off, ironic.

The level of control is amazing, I’ve never experienced it. This model comes with 29 HotCells (touch buttons built onto the pad itself), all re-programmable to open files or run a program, which makes life ALOT easier.

I’m starting to use it for everything, instead of a mouse!! I even use it for writing short text rather then using the keyboard!
I experimented with it on the programs it was designed for, Photoshop and Flash, as you can imagine it worked superbly.
I’m so pleased with my find. Its a real “Bobby Dazzler”.

Tonight an interesting thought struck me: With this amount of control, what would it be like on a game?

Some of my friends know that I like to play Soldier of Fortune2, an outdated yet excellent online soldier game. The rules are simple, two teams go in to kill each other…and sometimes try to capture the briefcase.

Anyway, usually I would use a mouse to aim and shoot, instead I tried the digi-pen.
OMG!!! The degree of accuracy and speed was god-like! It was difficult at first, I’m still getting used to the pen anyway but once I got to grips with it, shooting was quite enjoyable (more so then usual).
I shall be using it to pwn once I get back a more permanent internet connection (I haven’t been on the online version in over a month).

So you guys can expect to be seeing some more, higher quality Photoshop's and eventually some Flash games and movies.
